Valerie uses holistic and client-centered approaches including mindfulness and self-care strategies. A graduate of University of Phoenix where Valerie earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and Master's of science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is licensed in Utah as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC). She has 10+ years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families in both inpatient and private practice settings. Valerie is experienced in working with trauma/PTSD, addictive behaviors, self-harm, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. She is trained in several therapeutic modalities, including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Valerie spends her free time playing with her grandchildren, cooking and baking with her children, and vacationing with friends.
