Hello, I am Val Ruszovan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of California. I commend you on having the courage to begin the journey on the path to self-discovery and healing. I know it can be challenging to ask for help and I am here to partner with you, to be an ally and guide, as you find the path to live a life filled with intention, meaning, and joy.

I approach each client as their own unique person and provide treatment that is client-centered, strength-based, and individually tailored to meet your specific needs and goals. I have over 20 years of experience in the mental health field providing counseling services and serving as a clinical supervisor and educator to graduate students and professionals who are pursuing the goal of becoming licensed therapists themselves.

I specialize in working with individuals who are need of support with issues such as depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma and abuse, bipolar disorder, grief and loss, interpersonal conflict, relationship challenges, self-esteem, professional burnout, compassion fatigue, and LGBTQ+ concerns. I use a holistic or integrative approach to therapy and incorporate several clinical approaches into my practice including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
