Welcome to Find A Therapist!

My name is Tyrone Scott and I have worked as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of Massachusetts for approximately 25 years. I attended Boston University Graduate School of Social Work out of my desire to help people overcome problems in their everyday lives. Throughout my career, I have worked with persons experiencing the ill effects of poverty, trauma, substance use, mental illness, and racism. For the past ten years I have worked 1-1 with persons struggling to manage behavioral, mental health and substance use issues adversely impacting their full participation and/or enjoyment in life.

Working for you, I see my clinician role as helping you identify the problems, issues, or circumstance you find problematic and want to change, and then helping you bring about the change you want to feel or experience. I cannot tell you exactly what you will get out of counseling, but I can say that you will generally get out of it what you put into it. You should know that I cannot change anything for you. It is your life, and only you can make the changes you want. You are the change agent! My job is to challenge you to do what you want to do, and then support you in examining your efforts and how those efforts align to the outcomes you want. I am convinced with your motivation I can help you make the changes you want to and move you closer to feeling better!
