Hello! My name is Diane Michalakis. I am a psychotherapist, and credentialed with a LMSW - Licensed Master's of Social Work. I have worked with clients in a wide range of concerns including depression, self esteem, interpersonal relationships, and severe mental issues (such as individuals with a diagnosis of Schizophrenia, or acute Bipolar symptoms).
I believe that if one wishes to take the opportunity of self awareness, understanding of situations, and acceptance of others, one may be on the road to a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
As the needs and resources of an individual vary, my therapy approach combines Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Faith Based Treatment. And in the wise words of Fred Rogers, "Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary".
