About

Hello, I am Trecia Lewis, LCSW, a licensed therapist. I'm here to help you heal. My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that everyone has the capacity to grow, get better and live the life they desire. I focus on helping you work through worry, sadness, and the psychological wounds connected to anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach My approach to therapy is focused on providing my belief everyone deserves to be heard. I strive to create a space where clients can feel comfortable expressing themselves. I believe that therapy should be individualized and collaborative. So I work with my client to support their needs in a way that helps to foster a sense of empowerment and increase motivation for therapeutic change. My focus As a therapist, I usually work with Black women dealing with various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. They may be emotionally exhausted from relationship issues, family dynamics, life transitions, stress, and limited beliefs holding them back from living the life they deserve. My communication style Creating the right tone and environment for my clients is one of my top values as a therapist. I strive to provide a safe and supportive atmosphere where clients can feel comfortable sharing their stories and experiences. I believe you should feel respected and understood during our sessions, and that's why I uphold standards of warmth, non-judgments, and acceptance. I take time to get to know you and set clear expectations and boundaries to ensure trust and emotional safety. My journey to therapy My journey to becoming a therapist began as a child in Jamaica when my mother decided to move to the United States for a better life. The experience of leaving my home country and the people I loved filled me with loneliness, anxiety, and grief. Though initially overwhelmed by my feelings, I found solace in my journal. Little did I know my practice of writing was a form of therapy.
