About
I have been a Master's level therapist since 2001 and have worked with a wide variety of clients and issues, ranging from Adjustment Disorder to Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses. My work has been primarily in various agencies, each of which trained its counselors in a wide variety of modalities. This means I have working, applicable knowledge from CBT to DBT. I have worked within prison systems, churches, suburban communities, the Deaf community, survivors of severe childhood abuse, people who have been homeless, and more. After so many years and methods, I have come to the conclusion that my job is primarily to get you out of therapy, to get you up and going to live the life you want. I can teach you how to be your own therapist, show you what I know about how the mind works, and tell you what you can do to use your mind toward you very best advantage. The past few decades have seen enormous strides and understanding in how the. mind works. So much of the discoveries have shown that, while complex in its possibilities, the subconscious mind operates on only a few principles, and when understood and put into proper focus, can yield tremendous results in relatively short time in therapy. I know specialize in Rapid Transformational Therapy, a form of clinical hypnotherapy, and can provide this at a client's request. I also strongly believe in the power of the mind to heal itself, and as such I teach the basic meditation methods used by monks everywhere. I also emphasize nutrition and physical movement. Your mind and body are not you; they are the instruments through which you get to be human.
