About

I would love to get to know you and help you! I have been a mental health therapist/counselor for 30 years and have worked in many settings with people of diverse ages and backgrounds. Experiences and settings have included hospitals, emergency departments, employee assistance programs, public schools, geriatrics, clients who are rehabilitating from physical conditions or addictions, grassroots organizations, and post legal adoption services. I have also served in private practice.

My approach begins with the priority of taking the time to listen and really get to know you as an individual, (not a type or statistic), and I believe the relationship with my clients is the foundation for healing, personal growth and change. I have been able to commit to my work for so many years because I truly learn, and am refreshed, by each new life story that is shared with me. I have had many personal life experiences, including frequent moves, marriage, parenting, loss, work/life balance, physical and emotional pain, aging, etc. that facilitate empathy and the ability to relate to, and problem solve in treating my clients. Everyone needs someone to confide in and someone to listen objectively, so please, let’s get started!
