About
I can understand how hard it is to find a therapist that can relate and really understand. I have been there, and this is what lead me to pursue a career as a Mental Health Therapist. After spending years in HR and in the education system I saw a need and desire to reach people on a deeper level and help them with areas of everyday struggles without the stigma of shame or judgment. I pursued my calling and graduated from Colorado Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling. With my vast experience working with many different ages and populations I am able to identify a person’s needs and work with them in the change process by offering encouragement and without judgement. I help clients with relationship issues, life transitions, grief / loss, personal growth, and life management, coping, anxiety, depression, pre-marital, marital, divorce recovery, self-esteem, stress management, work/life balance, boundaries, and assertiveness skills. My approach to therapy is somewhat different. Yes, we do talk about feelings and emotions, however, I work with my clients through the change process and developing a better self. I start by developing a safe comfortable environment and really get to know who my clients are. My clients would say that I, challenge and empower them to make healthier emotional, spiritual, cognitive, and behavioral choices. Clients will benefit from an eclectic therapeutic approach that draws from client centered, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused. I am a mother of two active teenagers, so most weekends you will see me being the team mom at their events. I enjoy family time by hiking, cycling, paddle boarding, movies, and board games. My friends say I am a kid at heart and can see the good in every situation. My motto, “Live for Today”.
