About
Hello, First off, as your reading this, congratulate yourself on getting into Counseling. I know seeking treatment can create uncomfortable emotions such as anxiety, fear, and vulnerability. I strive to offer a safe place for you to talk that includes encouragement, unconditional positive regard, supportive environment and a judgement-free zone. I don’t believe there is a specific modality, theory, or therapist that is tailored to every client. This is why I encourage clients to search for a therapist that you feel will best fit your needs, and why I take an Eclectic approach in our therapy sessions. One therapeutic approach or technique may be more beneficial for one session rather than the next session. I strive to be present in the moment during our session and tailoring the session to meet your needs. For a little background on me: I graduated from undergrad at Texas State University with a major in Psychology, and a minor in Recreation. I went on to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor to graduate with a MA in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling in 2019. I have been seeing clients since student internships in 2018, and became fully Licensed as an LPC in August of 2021. I have a background working with children and adolescents, and clients who have experienced struggles with anxiety, depression, aggression, grief, and adjustments. Some modalities that I utilize the most are Person-Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused therapy. If you believe that I can help meet your needs for Counseling, I am honored and look forward to meeting with you to continue on your counseling journey.
