About

Hello. My name is Tracey Reno and I bring with me, as a Licensed Professional Counselor, a wealth of life experience that has contributed to my passion for helping others. I have had the privilege to work with people from all different backgrounds with vastly different distress and concerns. And although we are each unique individuals with unique stories, one thing we have in common is a vulnerability we feel when taking a chance to share our deep struggles with another person. I get that. It is a difficult decision to make that takes courage and inner strength. Yet the support you will receive in doing so is positively transformative. This is the gift of therapy! A safe space, judgement free zone where you feel heard and treated with positive regard. This is my mission and is how I am dedicated to providing support for each and every person I am fortunate to work with.

My approach is warm, empathetic, and person centered. Meeting people where they are in their readiness for change is where we start. I believe that people are the experts in their own lives and my role is to walk alongside them facilitating insight for the changes they would like to make to live the life they imagine. Empowering people to tap into their strengths to overcome their obstacles sharing the tools that will help them to do so is key. Positive psychology (strength based), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT- addressing negative/distorted thoughts), Mindfulness, Transtheoretical Model (stages of change) and Solution Focused interventions are all those I use. I have experience working with anxiety, panic, social anxiety, depression, weight management, relationship issues, infidelity, divorce, parenting, and stress management.

In closing, a favorite quote that a professor shared during graduate school is one I like to pass along for helpful reflection during times of struggle - "There is nothing wrong with you, that can't be fixed by what is right with you." You can stand up to your obstacles and do something about them with the right support. If you are ready to take the next step, I am happy to work with you to help.
