About
I am a Skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have over 20 years of experience in the Mental Health Field working to help others live better lives! I have extensive experience providing Individual, Family, Couples, and Group Therapy to clients (Adults, Adolescents, & Children) with Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse Issues; I possess proven history of successful engagement and interaction with a diverse clientele along the dimensions of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, Sexual Orientation, Socio-economic Status, Age, Physical Abilities, Religious Beliefs, Political Beliefs, or other Ideologies. I have extensive experience working with Adults, Adolescents, Children, & Families in Crisis on a wide range of concerns: Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Relationship and/or Family Issues, Domestic Violence Issues, Anger Control Problems, Parenting Issues, and Childhood Issues (ADHD, ODD, Conduct Disorder, DMDD, & Social Communication Disorders). I also assist many clients who have experienced Physical and/or Emotional Trauma.
I offer Eclectic Treatment Approach; this approach uses a variety of Theories, Techniques, and Interventions to address the unique needs of the client. Using this multi-faceted approach is best for my diverse clientele. This approach allows me to use the most effective methods to meet the specific Needs, Personality, Culture, and Preferences of each client. My Treatment Approach incorporates my core Theory of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which is essential in helping clients replace their negative and faulty, assumption-based thought patterns with positive, reality-based thought patterns. Along with CBT, I also incorporate the following theories of Person-centered, Mindfulness-based, Reality Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Creative Therapy.
My Counseling Style is warm and engaging; I’m compassionate, genuine, and empathetic to client issues, offering a safe and nonjudgmental environment. I help clients identify their positive qualities, attributes, and skills they need to thrive!
