Tierney Garver, MSW, LICSW (she/her) has provided therapy for over 7 years and has worked in the mental health field in various capacities since 2013 . Tierney graduated with a master’s in clinical social work from the College of St. Scholastica in 2017. Tierney has experience working in outpatient, partial hospital, inpatient hospital, community mental health, and private practice settings with adults with both mental health and substance use disorders.
She specializes in working with adults 18+ who struggle with trauma, depression, anxiety, and co-occurring disorders. Tierney is also experienced in and has worked with many youth and young adults experiencing exploitation and trafficking and is a part of the Safe Harbor community of providers in the Duluth area.
She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP), and mindfulness-based practices and works from a strengths-based, person-centered, relational approach. Tierney has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Not A Number (trafficking curriculum), and EMDR. Tierney has also recently completed The Polaris Insight Clinic Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) training and is comfortable working with non-ordinary states of consciousness.
When not working, Tierney is often enjoying her time outside with her friends and family, kayaking, fishing, reading, and hunting for agates as well as snowboarding and hiking in the winter, her favorite season.
