About

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in Florida. I have 11 years experience working with clients in a variety of settings including Veterans Affairs, geriatric care, serious mental illness, and adults with chronic disease/pain. My treatment modalities include person-centered Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Interventions. This means we work on what YOU want to work on and YOU set the goals for counseling. The majority of my clients are seeking to overcome barriers to their wellness and often need help dealing with significant life events (divorce, loss of loved one, serious diagnosis, financial issues). My work is targeted and lasts until you believe you have things in hand. For most, the work is brief (done within a couple of months) with the knowledge you can return whenever you need to.

My approach is holistic vs. a more medical model. While there are definitely circumstances medication is appropriate, I strive to develop life-management techniques first. Humans are incredibly resourceful and resilient. At times each of us needs to examine our strengths and be guided on how to use them in new, helpful ways. The end result is growth. Not only do you get through this current challenge, but hopefully you are better equipped to face life's difficulties in the future.
