My name is Theresa Nguyen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Orange County/Los Angeles, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I approach therapy with clients in a collaborate way utilizing science and spirituality to help guide clients build tools, skills, and knowledge to manage life's challenges. While I have experience working with youth and families, I currently am working with young adults and adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help my clients find tools and skills to maintain a balanced life. I also take on a trauma informed approach to help clients find healing and find that narrative therapy can help client reflect and find connection with themselves and others. My approach In my work with my clients I take on a humanistic and pragmatic approach to therapy. While I prioritize relationship building with clients and provide unconditional positive regard, I also help client's find the tools, skills, and knowledge to identify automatic thoughts, increase self awareness, and challenge negative thinking patterns to realistic positive ones. My focus I work with young adults and adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions, identity crisis, grief and loss, social pressures, and healing from past traumas. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, and stress. I work with clients to navigate these transition periods and to build skills, tools, and knowledge to allow them to learn more about themselves, feel better about themselves, and heal from past traumas. My communication style I am a warm and inviting person who has great compassion for the well-being of others and the community. My goal is to connect with each person, find understanding about their patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and meet them where they are.
