I believe life is about perspectives and how we interpret events that occur in our lives, this ultimately determines how we respond to such events.
I am a bi-lingual (Creole/English), Licensed Social Worker in New Jersey, with extensive experience working with preteens, teenagers and young-middle adults both individually and in small groups, treating with issues such as crisis management, anger-management, parenting, depression, anxiety, skill building, grief, ADHD, ODD, trauma, sexual assault and domestic violence.

While my treatment approaches can be considered eclectic at times, my two main frameworks are Psychoanalytic Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). CBT helps clients to process their emotions, and help them make the connection to their perceptions which guides their feelings. While Psychoanalytic Therapy focuses on the unconscious thoughts and past experiences, it may impact present behaviors.

I have acquired my experience working in various settings including the Federal Bureau of Prisons (half-way house) where I was a Substance Abuse Counselor and then a Supervisor responsible for individual, group therapy and workshops; Morristown Hospital’s Psychiatric unit as a clinician; and for the past fifteen years with an urban public school as a Social Worker on the Child Study Team providing services to identified Special Education students. In this role I provide individual and group counseling, complete Individualized Educational / 504 plans and conduct comprehensive social assessments.

My Masters in Social Work Degree was obtained at Kean University. I obtained my undergraduate credentials at Fairleigh Dickinson University where I was known for my work on social justice issues.
