Hello! I am a licensed independent clinical social worker in WA with 30 years worth of experience in counseling and life coaching. Originally from rural IL, I have worked with all age groups in a variety of settings. I love helping people through life transitions, whether it's due to death, relocation or divorce. I also enjoy working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, chronic illness, TBI, SADD, ADHD, or just this looney year!

I have a rather laid back, tell it like it is midwestern style. I am rarely formal! I use a brief, holistic, solution-focused approach; which means I like to start with an end in mind and help you reach your goals. I like to educate people on how our thoughts may affect our feelings/mood which also affect our actions; it’s called cognitive behavioral therapy. I might also help you learn ways to balance your personal life with work and family. Or even recommend some alternative ways (like meditation or natural supplements) to help you feel better. I tend to be very collaborative which means we work together, with you being the expert on you. I’m just here to help you get to where you want with your life (or help you discover what you want). I can also help you sort through fake news and conspiracy theories...

Although I have a robust sense of humor, I take counseling seriously enough to care about the people I help but not so seriously that we won't be able to share a laugh or three. I try my hardest to make counseling feel like a cup of coffee/tea or hot chocolate shared between two friends.
