Hello, my name is Tawnya and I’m here to help

My focus revolves around meeting clients where they are to see the world from their perspective, while opening up another realm of possibilities. Whether clients are participating in individual sessions, a group format, or need grounding through a crisis, one of my main goals is to always provide a safe environment for clients, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. I hope to honor each client’s experience because they are, after all, the expert in their own life. I see myself simply as a guide along the path, assisting on life’s journey when clients face difficulties.

Since 2011, I have worked with various populations and people with different mental health diagnoses, including depression and anxiety; PTSD; rape crisis and sexual abuse; family communication; abuse issues; grief & bereavement; suicidal ideation; suicide loss survivors; developing coping skills and healthy boundaries; as well as a variety of mental health diagnoses.

I’ve worked at a rape crisis center, mental health center, grief & trauma center, vocational rehabilitation, as a group facilitator and an individual therapist. In addition, I’ve treated clients facing a variety of life events and challenges, including career & life transitions, surviving a suicide loss, LGBTQ+ specific concerns, and many types of trauma.
