About
I take a very practical approach to counseling. I put a strong focus on a person's strengths and helping a person function to the best of their ability. I support people through difficult times and help them learn new ways to cope. Whether it is working through depression, anxiety, grief, or emotional turmoil; you will have a partner to support you along the way. I am guided by the principles of self-determination.
Having choices
Knowing more about yourself
Being in control
Making your own decisions
Driven by your personal goals
I enjoy working with children, families, and people in all of their ages and stages of life. My work experience also includes community based mental health treatment, intensive outpatient, and working with youth in foster care and residential treatment, seniors, and family caregivers. I primarily use solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy interventions.
I moved to Kohler in 2009. I am married and raising three children. In my spare time I enjoy food and wine, gardening, and watching the kids play sports. I am very family focused and always encouraging people to better themselves and their families. I am also a small business owner. I have spent time in the corporate world, as well as with government and nonprofit agencies. Helping people manage career and life transitions is an area that I am also experienced in.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the State University of New York and a master's degree in Counseling from Marist University. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and regularly attending trainings to stay current in the field.
