Welcome! My name is Dr. Tara Meisner and I am a licensed clinical psychologist, currently practicing in Texas. My career path has been such a rewarding journey thus far. I started my career at an HIV/AIDS clinic working with issues ranging from substance use and health concerns to serious mental illness. I then worked for the Federal prison system for seven years and have since transferred to work with veteran's.

I absolutely love what I do and enjoy working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds. I have done research on attachment theory and projective measures such as the Rorschach, and also have extensive experience with Autism spectrum disorder, personality disorders and trauma and stressor related disorders. Trauma focused therapy is my passion, as I believe it takes such a strong individual to address their past head on. I also enjoy working on relationship issues, self esteem, depression and with mindfulness techniques. While I regularly use CBT and DBT, I was initially trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and thoroughly enjoy all three modalities.

My approach is warm, honest and thorough. I individualize my work with each and every client making sure you feel safe and secure. I enjoy collaborating with my clients and am open to learning just as you are.
