About

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Social Psychology from Lehigh University in 2003 and graduated from Columbia University in 2007 with a Master of Science in Social Work. I recently transitioned from medical social work to clinical counseling. I specialize in health/illness, medical education, medical trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, disability, grief/bereavement, and loss. I am a thoughtful, sensitive, empathic, and hard-working clinician who genuinely cares and strives to make a difference in the well-being of each of my patients. My professional approach involves mutual respect, collaboration, active listening, and a nonbiased perspective. I have a reputation for being hard-working, thorough, detail-oriented and sensitive. I continued in the field of oncology (cancer) as a senior social worker at NYU Langone Medical Center from 2014-2018. I worked with a multidisciplinary team of providers in an outpatient clinic for adults treated in gynecologic oncology, neuro-oncology, breast oncology, medical oncology, and hematology (malignant and non-malignant blood disorders). I also provided counseling to patients with ambivalence about whether to undergo prophylactic surgeries, such as hysterectomies, to prevent cancer. I worked at Atrium Health Children's Hospital from 2019-2023 as a pediatric bone marrow transplant and cellular therapies social worker. The patients were admitted anywhere from six weeks to six months on average. These patients were diagnosed with cancers, genetic mutations, sickle cell disease, blood d
