My name is Tanya Smith and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I currently work in the state of Florida and I have 7 years of experience in areas such as: case management, psychotherapy, trauma and abuse, mental health treatment and substance abuse treatment. I have worked with children, teenagers, adults, families, and couples who have struggled with various life changes and adjustment periods, behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship challenges, trauma, abuse, and self-esteem issues.
My therapeutic counseling style is client focused. I like to ensure that all sessions and interactions are positive and collaborative, working towards achieving my clients desired goals. I treat all clients with dignity, respect, kindness, and openness to avoid any judgments and/or biases. I utilize Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy
