Hello! I am Dr Dabirian, but you can call me Dr D:) I have been a licensed psychologist in California since Feb 2011. I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I got my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2005 from CGI (currently known as the Chicago School of Professional Psychology). I am bilingual and have over 15 years of experience in several clinical settings, including: nonprofit, college counseling center, private setting, community outpatient rehab center, and prison mental health facility. I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative process between client and therapist. In this therapeutic journey, the patient will gain insight into their current thought process and outlook that has resulted in their daily pattern of behaviors and decisions. Together, we will revisit past experiences (relationships, childhood, family belief system, trauma, etc.) as needed. There will also be great emphasis on the concept of mindfulness “here and now” as the client sets their current goals and expectations for his or her therapeutic journey. I will be collaborating with other teams of mental health and medical professionals in order to make a referral/recommendation based on my scope of practice, your treatment goal, and desired outcome. I will let you (my clients) know before making such a referral and be happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have.
