I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have been working in the field of Mental health for 10 years. I have experience with working with individuals with mental illness as well as those with substance use disorders. I have used one to multiple approaches in therapy to include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Theoretical Model of Change and Solution focused therapy. I operate my therapy through a strengths perspective and consider the person in the environment when helping my clients access resources. I also use psychoeducation in therapy to inform individuals of their illness or behavioral disorder. Education is key to understanding and if one understands their diagnosis and can identify triggers they can be more equip in coping with their symptoms.
