About

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) from Iowa. I have been a practicing social worker for 14 years. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, and ADHD. I also provide mental health and trauma trainings to various agencies as my goal is to reduce the stigma of mental health and encourage more individuals to seek support and help when they need it. I have experience working with first responders as well. Furthermore, I work with students who have disabilities along with their family members.

My therapy style is eclectic as I believe each individual has their own unique needs, and it is important to match those needs with the most appropriate therapy techniques and skills. My therapy techniques include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also like to provide clients with resources and activities to do between therapy sessions (if they request). Most importantly, I feel that the client-therapist relationship is what is key to the success of each session. I strive to build that connection and trust from the very first session.

I believe that each of us have the ability and are deserving of living full, happy and healthy lives. Together I feel we can identify what is creating the roadblocks to this and work on becoming the best version of yourself.
