Hello my name is Tammy and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years of providing therapy . Over the years I have worked extensively in hospital inpatient as well as ambulatory settings providing supportive counseling to oncology patients, their families and loved ones. In addition I have maintained a grief and bereavement as well as a general psychotherapy private practice focused on work with individual, couples, families and facilitated support groups.
My approach is strengths based and client centered, I like to draw from a variety of modalities including: Motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, Existential and Solution Focused Therapies. I am also very interested in psychodynamic work with my clients. I have a strong interest in helping others navigate the grief process. Much of my work involves working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety and relationship challenges. It is my honor and privilege to be a steady presence during a challenging time for folks. I am dually licensed in the state of North Carolina and Washington State. I live and work in Charlotte, NC.
