Hi there, I'm Tammy! Hello! My name is Tammy Casiano. I'm a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in California. I'm working on completing my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus on psychological testing. I've done a lot of trauma and dissociative work. I primarily work on getting to know who you are and what your strengths are, which will be used in any approach we take. I value you as a unique individual - you are the expert and I'm your filter to figure out what is best for you. My approach My theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Psychotherapy. I also used Solution-Based Therapy to work on identifying your goals and steps to achieve them. My focus I primarily work with adults. Most of the adults I've worked with have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses or personality disorders. I've worked with dissociative clients as well. My communication style I am very open and friendly, My approach is to see you as the expert in your life's journey. I am your companion, here to assist in whatever way I can and help filter back to you what I hear and sometimes challenge you in some of your beliefs as a way of helping you grow. My journey to therapy I wanted to become a therapist because I love to help people. I believe that we often go through things that shape and mold us to believe things about ourselves that are not necessarily true. I hope to help each individual I work with see themselves as unique, valuable human being on this journey together. My goals for you It's one of the first things we'll do - work on establishing what you hope to gain from therapy, and how we can work together on giving you the tools you need to accomplish your goals. My first session with you During our first session, we'll begin with assessing your needs, your history, and your goals.
