Sometimes life's adversities call for a little guidance. It takes a strong person to initiate support to share their innermost thoughts and feelings. I'm proud of people who seek support. I have been providing unconditional caring support to my clients throughout my career. Some people like cowboy boots and others like sneakers. It depends on how they fit, right? I believe this is also true when looking for a counselor...it has to be the right fit! Here is a little bit about me that may help you decide if I am a good fit for you.

My name is Tammy Fellows and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) in the state of New Mexico. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM in 1998, and my Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University in 2005.

I have over 14 years of experience working with children as young as two years old to adults. I was a partner at a private practice for eight years, and recently sold my shares to relocate to Florida. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I am well versed in the struggle with anxiety, depression, anger management, ADHD, behavioral concerns, self-esteem, and grief. Something that one of my professors told me that still resonates with me today is that we, as counselors don't have a magic wand, but we are guiders and educators as we assist our clients through life's adversities, so that they may learn tools that they can use for the rest of their lives, because there are, and will always be life's adversities.

My therapeutic style involves helping you to gain insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin to use immediately. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Grief Counseling, and Person-Centered Therapy. I utilize several modalities, as it is important to me to, again find what fits best with my clients.
