About
As an LMFT, I enjoy assisting people heal and get to achieve happiness. I have passion for helping people tackle life stressors and mental health issues. I have been working as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists since October 2009. I have worked with individuals, families, couples and children. I have assisted clients struggling with sexual trauma, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, LGBT issues, personality disorders, ADHD, and etc. I not only provide therapy, but I also provide skills building and life skills to assist in achieving a better quality of life.
My therapy style is non-judgmental and humble approach, while constantly getting to know and building rapport with my clients. I seek to assist my clients in working towards positive change through a variety of techniques, role-play, and theories. I prefer clients to trust me in order for them to open up, so that I can help them with their struggles. In all first sessions, I start with an initial clinical assessment, where I get family history and background information. I also assess for medical history and support system. From here, together we will create a treatment plan. The treatment plan will include goals and objectives to be accomplished during sessions. Treatments plan are created (therapist and client) based on your needs. I utilize a combination of Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and etc. to assist the client. Along with therapy sessions, homework assignments are given in order to work on issues outside of therapy. I never make homework assignments stressful or forced. I am firm and assertive, but easy to get along with, easy to talk to, and easy going.
It is very brave decision to seek help and open up to a mental health professional, because I know it can be difficult to trust a complete stranger. I hope to make your journey to healing and mental health success worthwhile.
