About
I believe YOU are the expert of your own life and I am only here to help you find the answers your looking for within yourself. Humans are both physically and mentally strong beyond measure, and they are able to adapt and survive almost any adversity or change they may face. Coping mechanisms are a huge part of our ability to adapt to change. However, ways in which we find to cope can sometimes be more or less healthy. My job is to help you identify which coping skills you developed are actually benefiting you and which ones are creating unnecessary barriers for you.
In both my personal and professional life I have encountered individuals who struggle with neurodiversity, substance abuse, trauma, codependency issues, grief, loss ,coping with change and so much more. What I have discovered that in each of these scenarios is those humans are beyond resilient. I also learned that your ability to overcome adversity is not determined by anything except your willingness to do so. Of course some barriers may be harder to overcome than others, but not impossible. We adapt and survive all types of change by developing different coping mechanisms. The goal of therapy is not to only survive, but to also thrive. I believe YOU are the expert of your own life, and my job is to help you find the answers you are searching for from deep within yourself. You guide the pace of the therapy sessions, we can discuss what you did over the past week, what is currently stressing you out, or even what you’ve accomplished today. Therapy doesn’t always have to be able delving into the depths of your childhood experiences and painful memories, it can just be about improving your day to day interactions and perceptions in the here and now. You’re driving this plane, and I’m just your copilot.
