About
Hi there! I'm Sydney, a white, cisgender, Queer woman and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (MSW, LCSW) in the State of Pennsylvania, with more than 8 years of experience in the Behavioral Health field. My therapeutic process and perspective has been cultivated by my personal experiences, years of training, and the meaningful connections and spaces created with my clients.
I strive to provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment to help you better understand your own complex and nuanced story with compassion and intention. You can expect our therapeutic relationship to be forged from respectful and unconditional positive regard, authenticity, and affirmation... with a bit of humor and humanity sprinkled in. I believe that, with someone in your corner, you can let go of guilt, shame, and judgement in order to live a more intentional and meaningful life.
I provide trauma and social justice-informed care to individuals experiencing challenges with depression, anxiety, life transitions, exploration of self-concept and identity, emotional dysregulation, communication and relationships, and a wide array of circumstances that life presents. My work tends to focus on the very humanity of these experiences, utilizing a Neuropsychological lens and breaking up with our tendency to pathologize very normal, yet uncomfortable, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. You will learn how to understand your own Neurology, identify and process your emotions, and use this information to combat and support your Psychology.
When I’m not working with clients here or at my full-time job as a Behavioral Health Specialist, I’m often found outdoors with a good book or tending to my tiny garden, inside lounging with my partner and our pets (2 cats and a dog! Sharing your pet pics is strongly encouraged), and trying out new restaurants in Philly with friends.
Please let me know if there’s anything I should know about you as we begin. Getting started is often the hardest part, and I appreciate your willingness to take this initial step. I look forward to working with you!
Limitations:
Live Session availability is typically in the early evenings during the week (not available on Mondays), with several opportunities for Saturday sessions, and some early morning/lunch hour times throughout the month. Live Sessions should occur at least twice monthly in any modality while working with me in order to optimize your success in meeting your goals!
While I do consider myself a trauma-informed, body-positive, sex/kink-positive, harm-reduction focused generalist; there are some primary concerns that I may not be a good fit for, including: Disordered Eating, Religious Identity Exploration, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder & Trauma-Focused Treatments (EMDR, DBT, Exposure Therapies, etc.), active or recent Self-Harm or Suicidal Ideation, and Process-Oriented Addiction Treatment.
