Hello, my name is Suzanne Council. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Michigan. I earned both my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work degrees from Western Michigan University. I have experience working with children, adolescents, individuals and families who have challenges associated with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, grief and loss, and life changes.

Having worked in private practice and as a school social worker for many years, I know how hard it can be for anyone to take the first step to reach out and seek counseling, it takes a lot of courage! That is why I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is in finding a good match. I believe in developing a strong therapeutic relationship in order for you to feel safe and supported. I want your therapy experience to not only be helpful but one that is genuine, positive, and respectful. I believe in meeting you where you’re at because everyone’s needs are unique to their individual situation. I utilize a solution focused, person centered, and strengths-based approach drawing heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory. You will gain skills to feel confident to address the challenges you have been struggling with.
