Welcome! I am glad that you've decided to reach out and seek counseling. It takes a lot of courage to do so.

Let me tell you a bit about myself. I received my Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Boston University. Two years later, I earned my LCSW, the highest level of state licensure. Most of my experience involves one-to-one individual counseling, and that is what I really enjoy doing. However, I've also worked in a residential school and in community mental health.

I have an interest in trauma, and as a result, I have a great deal of post-graduate training in that area. I have been trained in EMDR by the EMDRIA institute (which is the best place to get that sort of training). I have studied DBT and other forms of trauma therapy. I believe that most mental health problems in adulthood stem from dysfunctional or traumatic childhood experiences.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, warm and open. You are the one in charge of your therapy. I look forward to meeting you!
