I’m Susan Taylor, DBH, LMSW, and I specialize in helping adults with anxiety, panic, phobias and depression. Are you struggling with anxiety every day in your personal and professional life? You’ve likely been maintaining anxiety, literally feeding it, without even knowing it, based on how you respond to it, creating an endless cycle of anxiety and fear of anxious symptoms. In your efforts to stop feeling anxious, you try to fight it, use distractions, avoid anything that caused anxiety in the past, and you may even use “safety” people or things that make you feel safe, so you won’t feel anxious. This is very typical because it seems so logical as the way to stop anxiety and feel better. However, as I’m sure you’ve discovered by now, those methods are only temporary and before you know it, you’re feeling anxious again. My approach helps you learn new skills so you can overcome your fears while I support you every step of the way. As someone who has overcome my own anxiety issues, I understand your suffering. In the very first session, you will begin to understand what’s been happening to you and how you can change it. You’ll develop new skills immediately from the first session together, and you’ll learn how to feel better by changing how you respond to anxiety. You’ll overcome your fears by changing yourthoughts, beliefs, and how you respond to anxiety in new, constructive ways. My doctorate integrates physical and behavioral health, a vital educational component for understanding and treating anxiety and the impact it has. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and a strength’s based and problem-solving approach in my work. I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) 2022. I have over 22 years of experience in clinical and macro practice in various roles and the author of “Stop Anxiety Now: Take Control of Your Life with the Gain Control Method.” I’m looking forward to meeting you!
