About

My name is Susan Chung, a marriage and family therapist licensed in California. I have been a therapist for seven years working with a wide range of clients having issues with anxiety, anger, depression, relationship, alcohol use, self-esteem, parenting, bi-polar, acculturation and immigration. I am a mature psychotherapist who has successfully managed various life roles, including a wife, mother, caregiver, community volunteer, and a corporate executive.

My therapy approach is Client-Centered, and I believe a therapist can accurately senses the feelings and personal meanings of client's experiences and completely accepts the client with nonjudgmental respect. Theories I use include Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment, and Psychodynamic.

As an Asian American female therapist, I have compassion to help lessening challenges the racial and ethnic individuals experience in everyday life and to empower them to actualize their potential. I understand it takes courage to take the first step toward change and I will do my best to support you.
