Hello! My name is Susan, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from Northern Illinois. I am happy that you are viewing my profile because it shows that you are taking an interest in taking care of you. The journey that you are on can seem daunting and scary but can have the absolute best result. I can help you to find peace within yourself by helping you to untangle the jumble of thoughts in your mind and present your thoughts in a different way. This is the most important journey that you can undertake because it is a journey for yourself. Congratulations on taking the first step.

I have a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and I obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work (M.S.W.) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have been working in the field since 2006 and have worked with a wide variety of populations from incarcerated men to intellectually disabled adults to child victims of domestic violence. I practice a generalist style, which sounds fancier than explaining that I will use whatever therapeutic style seems right for you and your situation. I excel at helping you to understand you, identifying behavioral and thought patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

I work full-time in a community mental health agency so I'm available for four evenings per week. I will always be off on Friday and Saturday, but I have availability on Sundays.

I have helped people that are struggling with transitions, struggling with mood disorders, struggling with understanding the world through the lens of autism, people struggling with symptoms of psychosis, and people that are struggling to match their personalities to the current situation that they are in.
