About
By reading this profile, you are already taking the first step towards living your best life. Each of us encounters numerous challenges, losses, and traumas in our lives. By the vary nature of being human, these are inevitable and unavoidable. What is important is the way in which we respond to and grow from these events....ideally in a manner that brings about positive change and greater contentment.
I have been a clinical social worker for over thirty years, working with children, adults, couples, and families. My practice with adults has focused upon depression and anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, abandonment, self-image, adoption, critical illness, life transitions, and trauma.
I view therapy as a joint process and personal journey that relies heavily upon building a trusting therapeutic alliance. My approach is greatly rooted in strength based therapy that builds upon an individual's unique skills and successes. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and problem solving strategies to help individuals identify thoughts, feelings and behaviors that might be obstacles to achieving their goals in various facets of their lives.
