About
My name is Stephanie Olano (she/her), and I love working with teens, college/grad students, and young professionals. Whenever I tell people this, they give me a strange look and ask, “why?” or “how?” I would with these populations. I answer back with, “I’m very passionate about working with this population.” But in all honesty, teens and young adults are the only populations that really suit my approach to therapy. My approach to therapy is to be authentic and listen to my clients without judgment. Most of the time, teens and young adults are constantly hearing advice or being judged about their decisions. In our therapy sessions, my client and I work as a team to figure out the problem together, we work to understand what's stopping them from achieving their goals. And when I say goals, I mean goals that the client wants to work on during treatment. While I do not hold my own agenda, it is important that I show and model that all of my clients have autonomy.
