When young children and adolescents are struggling with their mental health, it significantly impacts all areas of functioning- academic, social, physical and emotional. I’ve developed a passion in helping these young individuals comprehend themselves and their concerns. Ultimately, this allows us to focus on the negative effects on their daily functioning, create a secure self-esteem, and learn effective coping skills. I want to help my clients build a strong and healthy mind at a young age, and teach them coping skills that will benefit them long-term. To ensure effective counseling with each individual client, I utilize a variety of counseling techniques and approaches. This allows me to build a strong therapeutic relationship and work together with the client in improving their daily lives and self-esteem. I aim to provide a safe and compassionate environment that promotes empathy, support, and the utmost unconditional positive regard for all. I have a passion for working together with my clients throughout the counseling process to assist them in making critical realizations and develop deep understandings about themselves and the concerns they have. I utilize a variety of approaches to provide the most effective counseling for each individual client. I earned my certification as a New York State Certified School Counselor in May 2020, and became a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors in July 2020. Additionally, I graduated from Medaille College with a Post Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received my limited permit to practice as a Mental Health Counselor from New York State.
