Stephanie Starr has 25+ years of experience in the brain health field, providing services to children, adolescents, individuals, families, and couples. She treats substance use, mood disorders, and any issues bringing you in. She specializes in using a solution-focused approach, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems theory while meeting clients where they are. What is your approach to therapy? I conduct a very thorough intake process where we discuss relationship patterns, family and personal history. The client and I will set treatment goals, which will be reviewed regularly to determine how much progress has been made. The goals can be organic, amended, and expanded as needed. I work with all ages, including children and adolescents. I work with individuals, couples, and families; as long as a client is teachable and open to the therapy process, I would love to work with them! What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998, I focus on the whole client and provide a comprehensive intake assessment to assist and meet the client where they are in order to meet their treatment goals. Most clients can benefit from homework. This will be set on an individual basis, as we would discuss the process. I feel my role as a therapist is to be the guide on a client’s journey of self-discovery and growth while giving them the encouragement to accomplish their goals.
