About
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker/therapist licensed in Texas with over 8 years of experience, my focus of care has been focused on mental health, though I have experience within medical and educations industries; I am grateful that I have been able to work with clients ranging from childhood to older adults. Mainly, I work with young and older adult populations, who are diagnosed and/or experiencing symptoms within the realm of: depression, anxiety, interpersonal (relationship with others), self-esteem, emotional regulation, stress, and trauma. Proudly, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with a diversity of issues and populations, as I come from crisis intervention based settings and currently hold a position/role as a counselor for those whom often want to experience a change in their quality of life, however struggle with connection to supportive resources and skills. I hold belief that once one is open to connection with a supportive resource, a supportive counselor, they can work toward defining and shaping the quality of life that they pursue.
My counseling style is supportive, collaborative, empathetic, and tied with supportive confrontation. . It is my belief that listening, supporting, and reviewing patterns of how one thinks of self and speaks of self is the imperative in shaping a therapeutic relationship and zoning in on goals. I will promote treatment of care, respect, understanding, learning, and teaching within all interaction. My approach to care is a combination of strength-based, solution-focused, and person-centered care. The modalities that I work from and have experience with include: dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, mindfulness cognitive therapy, and illness-recovery management. Overall, what these lens and modalities translate to, is that I am here to support in developing a treatment plan that is aligned with what you change while also provided feedback on steps/skills that can be engaged to get there.
The choice it takes to decide to seek out support is a significance journey and choice, I do not take that lightly, and identify that with the work that is focused on, supportive change can occur.
I look forward to working with you and witnessing your work!
