Thank you for visiting my profile as you search for a for a mental health clinician. It is not easy filtering through the many skilled and well-equipped clinicians. I hope to offer a brief description about who I am as a therapist and a person without overwhelming you as I understand you will be reading through many biographies. If you have any follow-up questions; please do not hesitate to ask. I want you to feel in full control of your own mental health and wellness journey and that includes feeling confident in -- and comfortable with -- your mental health provider.

Professionally: I have over a decade of outpatient community mental health experience. I am a forensic psychotherapist by trade and have spent much of my career treating individuals within the criminal justice system. This has prepared me to treat anything! I have experience treating a wide variety of concerns, I feel that I have experience in treating topics and concerns that others rarely get the opportunity to have experience in and for that, I am grateful. For example: I have extensive experience in topics related to sexual concerns, interpersonal relationships, anger/aggression, violence, personality disorders, trauma, and process (behavioral) addictions. My experience working in the criminal justice system has exposed me to all walks of life, all types of stories and has helped me become even more empathetic and non-judgmental. No one ever expected to end up in the criminal justice system, and I had the opportunity to help them figure out what got them there and possibly turn their lives around for the good and what an enriching experience for the past dozen years of my life. I am very warm, gentle individual and I utilize a client-centered, strength-based, solution-focused approach to foster a strong, trusting and encouraging therapeutic environment with a lot of humor and compassion! People are diverse and so I am eclectic in the counseling methods that I utilize. I will individualize treatment planning to meet your specific needs.

Personally: I am a Christian. I feel that Jesus has put each person in my path for a reason, and I am lucky enough to serve them. I aspire to show others they are made in the image of God, which means each of us holds tremendous value and worth. My middle name is precious to me: “Hope”; it so precious that I even have it tattooed on me! I use it in my signature, I have it decorated on every wall in my house as a reminder of God’s gifts of faith, hope and love. When it comes to therapy, I want to hold onto hope for others when sometimes it may feel like we can’t hold onto it for ourselves. I want you to know that you are not alone. There is hope.
