About
Hi there, I'm Stephanie! My name is Stephanie Arevalo and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My approach to therapy is person-centered and tailored to each individual’s needs and goals. I will start where you are ready to start and support you throughout your journey of healing and growth. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship issues and life transitions. My approach My theoretical approach is eclectic, humanistic, feminist, and cognitive. I draw from different perspectives and techniques to create a customized and collaborative therapy experience for each client. I value the uniqueness, dignity, and empowerment of each person and strive to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. I use cognitive strategies to help clients challenge and change their negative thoughts and beliefs, as well as humanistic and feminist principles to help clients enhance their self-esteem, autonomy, and social justice awareness. My focus I work with clients across the lifespan with challenges such as: depression, trauma, anxiety, distress, low-self esteem, relationship issues, and life changes. I also work with clients who experience stress and conflict related to their cultural identity and background. I understand the unique challenges that first-generation immigrants and their children face, such as adjusting to a new environment, balancing different expectations, and coping with discrimination and prejudice. I help clients explore and affirm their cultural values and traditions, as well as develop skills to communicate and negotiate with their family and community. My communication style The tone and environment that I create for my sessions with clients are warm, supportive, and respectful. I strive to create a safe and comfortable space where clients can express themselves freely and authentically. I listen attentively and empathically to their stories, feelings, and needs.
