Hello!

My name is Starlin "Starr" I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Connecticut. I have over 7 years of experience in social and mental health services as a bi-lingual (Spanish/English) therapist. I specialize in systemic therapeutic work with individuals, families, couples, and children. Some of my specialties areas are depression and anxiety management, trauma, ADHD, learning disabilities, healthy eating/nutrition, LGBTQIA+, life stressors and transitions, PTSD, family problems, etc. I am also a trauma certified, Gottman level one, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist. I often work with diverse populations from different social classes, ethnic and multi-generational backgrounds, and immigration statuses.

In 2013 I earned an Associate's degree in Behavioral Science and Human Services from Northwestern Community College, in 2016 a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Connecticut, and in 2019 an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University. Currently, I'm in the process of finishing a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy.

During my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, visiting family in the Caribbean, and participating in community-based activities to assist underrepresented populations. Also, mental and physical health are essential to me --including exercises that promote physical and mental wellness in my daily routine has made profound internal and external changes in my life.
