About
Hi! I am Stacey Rydell, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has a passion for helping those on their healing journey to find more meaning in life. My approach Working with adults of all ages, I guide my clients toward their inner knowing that we are all born with but have lost contact with due to trauma, societal pressures, family dynamics, and much more. As a therapist, I take a holistic, mindfulness-based approach to therapy. What does this mean? Together, we will look at all aspects of your life that impact your well being from physical and spiritual to mental and emotional. Incorporating mindfulness practices such as breath work and meditation, has been proven to help relieve the intensity of anxiety, and depression. My focus I focus primarily on working with LGBTQ+, women-identifying adults ages 18-40 years old. Much of my experience is treating anxiety, depression, Bipolar, gender identity, and disordered eating. My communication style I bring my authentic self to each session and do my best to create a relaxed and open atmosphere for my clients. Creating a natural, relaxed environment is my number one goal which helps my clients to feel safe to open up and process their internal world. My journey to mental healthcare In my early twenties, I struggled with an eating disorder and body image issues, which led me to find a therapist for the first time. This propelled me on my own healing journey, and I learned so much about myself and life in general through this process. This sparked a desire in me to help others going through similar situations, and I decided to go back to grad school to become a therapist. My goals for you This is a collaborative process, and in our first session, we will explore what you would like to work on together. Sometimes I will give ideas but for the most part, the client chooses what we focus on. My first session with you I tend to ask more questions than usual in the first session.
