Hi there,

I believe there is courage in healing, and I'm here to help you along in whatever part of life's journey you're currently on. My name is Spenser Sawyers and I have 5 years of experience as a licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated with my Bachelors degree in English from Western Kentucky University in 2011, and my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from WKU in 2015. I have worked in a wide variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient settings, and private practice. As a proud native Kentuckian, I have a warm, compassionate, and Person-Centered approach to my clients. I believe that creating a safe therapeutic environment is the greatest key to client success, and by first learning to accept yourself, true change can begin. My role as your therapist is being in the passenger seat with your life's roadmap in front. I'm here to help point out patterns of behavior along the way and how they're connected to your thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. Recognizing the impact we have in changing our own lives is one of the first steps towards living a more empowered, fulfilling life. A collaborative, evidence-based, trauma-informed approach is what you'll get with me as your therapist. Outside of Counseling, I have a life's passion for tattoo collecting, nature, LGBTQ+ art, and spicy foods.
