About

Are you struggling to gain traction in your life towards achieving your hopes and dreams? Is depression, anxiety, or uncertainty sapping your motivation and drive? Does your current situation seem so complex and confusing that you worry you'll never figure it out or ever get through it? If those feelings or situations are familiar to you, I'm here to tell you you're not alone and I can help you get through them!

As the middle of 9 children, I often found it a struggle during my formative years to fit in with my peer group and focus on meaningful goals for my life. My interactions with therapists as a teenager and then as a young adult instilled a desire within me to pursue a bachelor's degree in psychology and then a master's degree in marriage and family therapy. I've provided mental health treatment to individuals, couples, and families in a community mental health center for nearly 6 years now; and I've seen a little bit of everything from Major Depressive Disorder and Generalized Anxiety Disorder to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Schizophrenia. I've especially found meaningful work helping people improve their interpersonal relationships and/or learning to overcome traumatic experiences. My treatment approach is a mixture of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, and narrative therapies; and for trauma in particular I like to use either cognitive processing therapy or trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

If there is one thing that I have learned from my personal and professional experience in therapy, it is the value of having support that is both encouraging and understanding. Every person has a unique story and challenge that they find difficult to address whether it be mental or emotional struggles from the uncertainties of life to developing the discipline and courage to address the changes they have been putting off. Whatever your difficulty may be, I will be there to walk you through it. I look forward to helping you get to a better place in your life!
