My name is Dr.Soraya Sawicki, MSW, LCSW. I have more than 15 years of experience working in Mental Health, after working in New York, I moved to Connecticut with the idea of setting up a private practice. I attended the City College of New York, where I completed my undergraduate studies in Psychology, and then attended Yeshiva University, where I graduated with a Masters In Social Work, with a concentration on clinical studies. I have a Doctorate of Social Work, from Capella University, with a concentration on research and leadership, and I am a certified Life Coach. My experience includes running programs for the States of New York and Connecticut. I work with teens, young adults, couples, and families. I have worked in different areas such as immigration, teenage pregnancy, abuse, grief and loss, divorce, depression, anxiety, and other life issues. I have extensive experience in the area of trauma and PTSD. I enjoy working with individuals in academic settings who need motivation and empowerment. My practice includes a Holistic component ( I am a Reiki practitioner), where we integrate energy healing with psychotherapy. I am a strong believer of the mind, body and spirit connection for overall well-being. I respect and care for my patients. Using a cognitive- approach, I believe that being person-centered is the key to my success as a counselor. I am empathetic, respectful and non-judgemental while providing unconditional emotional support. I believe that the first step in healing is having the strength to seek help. The journey is shorter when you are not alone. I provide online therapy in CT and New York.
