Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to get to know a little about what I can offer you through Find A Therapist. My name is Sophie Madsen and I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been a therapist for over six years. I enjoy working with a variety of populations, but especially with young adults, adults, and elders. Even the most mundane moments of our lives can be blurred by worry, fear, hopelessness, and intrusive thoughts. Many of us struggle with this, and there is hope! I work with you from a client-focused, non-judgemental, integrative perspective and incorporate mindfulness, thought restructuring, calming, and other healing techniques into our sessions. I can support and guide you in learning about your symptoms and how to manage them and feel free again. I have a deep appreciation and empathy for those dealing with mental health issues, and I use this understanding, along with my education, training, and professional experience to help you feel empowered to thrive.

I would love to work with you in the format that makes you most comfortable, but find it especially helpful to use video therapy in order to promote a sense of comfort and ease in this sometimes daunting process. I love to incorporate a healthy amount of humor into my sessions and look forward to working with you and getting to know you better.
