About
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive.” –Howard Thurman I first heard this quote when I graduated with my Masters degree in counseling psychology, and it blew my mind. I had spent most of my young adulthood trying to figure out which of the world’s problems were the most significant, so that I could focus my energy in the direction of solving that problem. It was quite the game of whack-a-mole — the world has a lot of problems if you’re looking for them! I finally realized that I was thinking about it all wrong. I love learning, and I love people, and I love things just slightly this side of woo woo. So I decided to dive in to learning about people through a lens that integrates the scientific and the spiritual. I also love my own religion, having been raised in a Reform Jewish household. This background helps me understand how, for some, religion is a key component of establishing mental health. Now I get to change the world by being alive, no longer distracted by the game of whack-a-mole. This is the energy I want to help my clients create.
