Solana is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received her Master’s in Social Work from Appalachian State University. She has recently moved to Denver from Charlotte, NC. Her prior experience includes both community-based mental health and private practice counseling. Solana believes that seeking out therapy is a courageous step in working towards overall wellness and positive mental health. Solana incorporates values of acceptance, empathy, empowerment, resilience, non-judgmental awareness, and self-compassion with her clients. She utilizes various techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, and solution-focused therapy in supporting clients. Solana believes in highlighting each individual’s own unique strengths and set of values in therapy in order for clients to live a fulfilling and happy life. She works with adolescents, emerging adults, college students, and young professionals navigating the following: anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, gender identity, sexual orientation, grief, and eating disorders. She is interested in discussing the circumstances and motivations that prompt clients to seek therapy.
